A peculiar shine to his face
As to a polished candle
Mouth faded cream & blue

Earlier I saw that colour
In van Gogh’s starry night
Monet’s water lilies
Rothko’s revelation
Bacon’s roar

Beauty that belongs to
No palette
No artist

We take death
To go to a star.)
